Crystal Energy
How it was given out: Battle Road Summer 2002 gift card.
Japanese promo, released 2002.
One of 278 promos from 1999 to 2003 listed on this site.
Pokémon Card e Series We co-developed the e-Reader peripheral for the Game Boy Advance with Nintendo and Olympus. Players could enjoy and movies by scanning the 2D barcode printed on Pokémon cards. By distributing programs via Pokémon cards, we created an experience similar to deck building. The key example of this is the "Construction: Action" game, where you can construct a map and play. In the Pokémon TCG, we also implemented "hidden attacks" in which part of the attack's effect is random. "The hard part was the durability testing. From morning until night, I swiped the cards over and over until the card couldn't be read." (Masamichi Anazawa) (December 1, 2001)
This card was included in the Aquapolis expansion with artwork by Shin-ichi Yoshikawa, first released in the Japanese Wind from the Sea expansion. In Japan, it was reprinted as one of the P Promotional cards with new artwork by Kai Ishikawa as a gift card awarded during the 2002 Summer Battle Roads.
