In Japan, this card was released by MediaFactory from January 1 to June, 1999 and sent to members of the Pokémon Fan Club who had already earned 100 "GET Points". Those who were sent the card were awarded an additional 10 GET Points to their Pokémon Fan Club account. The card was reprinted with artwork taken from the "Sea" scene of the Southern Islands collection by Naoyo Kimura in July 1999. It was later reprinted again on e-card stock with new artwork by Hiromi Ito.
